We just had a great meeting with Cabby at the Cabby Shack in Plymouth about having our pre-event party there. Talk about jumping in with both feet. Cabby's is a hugely popular restaurant/bar on the Plymouth waterfront. Very happenin place, he doesn't need us to bring in business on a summer Friday night but he was happy to help. Space for us and running a raffle, taking care of the band, getting us airtime on radio, posters...and a cash donation to boot. We've had great luck with sponsors this year....huge kudos to Craig and Chaser for all their hardwork.

Lots of good stuff happening lately for the CCBC planning. Surf Club is the place for the after party again...more great work by the crew at Wachusett brewing. The Nate Mott Band is going to rock the place again too. It's looking like we are going to pack the place this year.  Paddle slots are filling quick, med staff (2 docs and a nurse) and boats all lined up...6 boats this year in support. Lots of schwag for the raffle coming in too....sponsors are being very good to us.
Things are getting wrapped up for the races too. The Charles River race is going to be freakin awesome.....about 4 miles...crazy start through the narrow lagoons along the esplanade...while a Eddie Money concert is going on....swing back out of the lagoons and then counterclockwise around the basin between the Kendall and Mass Ave bridges....this is going to be a GREAT spectator friendly race.

We should know this week about the Cape race. More when the details come in.

Someone is going to be very stoked at the end of the CCBC. The folks at Naish have joined our family of sponsors and will be giving us a 14' Glide as a raffle prize....how many tickets will you buy?

Sometimes we tend to get caught up in the event itself and forget about our purpose. I can't begin to imagine the pain of having to go through this with one of my kids.
