Couple new favorites...
« on: December 23, 2007, 07:58:17 PM »
2 sessions in a row I rode this 9-6 model but with a swallow tail and I really fell in love with it!     Had so many fun waves just going where I wanted.     Very thin nose and tail and has that super responsive feeling I like.    Rocker came out sooo sweet!       I'm going to send a slightly thinner version of this model to Gerry Lopez.    He ordered a custom 9-6 rocket so I shaped him an insane board but after riding this I know he'll love this one too as an all arounder.

Today I tried out this custom 10' Ripper Gun.    Wow!    This will definetly fit the bill for dredging waves with speed and power.      Its only an average paddler but once in the wave the thing rails turns the best of any board I've shaped so far at 10'.      Another sweet rocker.      I only made 2 of them and I think I'm going to stash one..  Hee hee!

Damn,

I would love to see the rocket you shaped for Jerry.  Did you snap any shots?

Gerry's new ride...   He hasn't even seen this yet.   I better send him an e-mail after this...

Check this one out...   Ikaika Kalamas 11'-10" Outer Reef Rhino Chaser.     The thing makes me nervous just holding it.   Meant for waves 15' + up to.....  Well, we don't know yet!

Aloha. I couldn't let this thread go without posting some photos I took the other day of my PSH quiver. Both boards ride totally different and I'm in love with them both.

10'0 Blane shaped this board well over a year ago and it's taken me into the biggest waves I've ever ridden and the longest nose rides I've ever pulled off. Magic.

9'6" I don't want to say too much about this board because, if I do, I'm afraid Blane will demand it back.
It freakin' rips.

If you're wondering about the repair on the underside of the 10'0. I was out surfing a solo session one morning after a heavy rain. There was all kinds of junk in the water but the surf was so clean. I saw this stick floating in the water while paddling back out after riding a wave and thought to myself, "Watch out of that one." Then, on the very next wave...huge close out on either side of me, and right in front of me was, "the stick". Whack.  No matter. Got some nice waves, got it fixed, and got another story to tell. Now, when I'm in the lineup and I see sticks, I gather them up and paddle them off to side out of everyone's way. I'm sure other surfers appreciate the clean up. It's just another little thing I've recently discovered I can do to share some Aloha in the water. Anyway, enjoy the photos.
