Zoners doing the Hawaii Kai run
« on: November 17, 2009, 02:08:38 PM »
I found an old thread on this topic but when I tried to reply the site suggested I start a new topic.

So anyway, I was trying to find out if people are doing the HK run and whether there was a crew of people doing it on a regular schedule, etc.  My wife and I just picked up a Vortice and wanted to give it a go.

Thanks,
Scott

I do the run usually at least once on the weekend. I'll send you a pm.

We have a group of guys that do the run.  As with most people doing the run, we do the run when the wind is right for it.  No wind, then we surf.  Usually go a couple of times in the afternoon (about 3pm) during the week.  If you're not comfortable getting done in around two hours probably not a good time.  We'll usually do a run on sundays.

Same here, thanks for hanging with me on the run.

I'm off to the mainland for a week, hopefully my new fin arrives by the time I get back and I'll be ready to go for run #2!

Same here. I just bought a XP and am looking for a group to join/train with.  I've done the run a number of times, but only once with the XP - 1:49min.  I think I spent as much time in the water as I did on top of the board.  It's really fast, but not quite as stable as my 11'9" Angulo/TB Nui. Gotta love, the Nui!

Aloha,
David
