How many SUP boards do you own ?

Include all types of boards (surf, race, downwind, flatwater etc) that you
can stand on and paddle

Just boards you own and personally use

Currently  i have 2 having just sold one but about to buy an inflatable !

Had 7 now have 5-  just sold 2 this week...  9'0PSH great summer board, 12' softtop (cant even give it away), 12' Munoz (keep for training) 12' Laird, never ridden myself, just have for friends, F16 brand new...

... just sold 8'6"PSH and old F16.  Will get one more 9'0"PSH custom for winter.

Plus 2 - 9'0" Charlie Smith longboards and 1 - 6'8" Charlie Smith Hapa

oh, and a kayak...

Actually ride the 9'0PSH anytime there are waves, and the F16 at least once a week... Munoz occasionally, mostly when the F16 is in for repairs... The rest just sit... and collect dust and gecko poop.

I don't know.  Let's see:  an eleven foot cruiser (fiberglass and polyester custom), a 10' 6" Naish, a 9'5" diamond tail quad (epoxy custom), a 9'1" Ron House battail quad (epoxy not a custom but not a popout), a (new to me) 8'0" custom C4 subvector with five boxes, a 7'6" Craig custom expoxy two plus one. I guess that makes six.

As we all know, I am a cheapskate board whore.  I barter for my new boards and troll Craig's List for other craft... although I did buy the Naish last year retail.

Now the big question... which ones do you ride?  I haven't ridden the Naish in six months, haven't ridden the 11 footer in about the same period of time.  (Friends, kid, still ride them).  The others I ride regularly.  My everyday board is the Craig, with the C4 vying for that coveted spot.

So this doesn't include the ones sold/given/traded, but I currently have 4:   a 9'0" Dave Peterson (custom), an 8'10" and 9'6" both Kazuma (also custom), and a 10' (Big Green) Sean Ordonez (this one I don't ride - it's for friends, family, etc). Trip's quiver has a 10' Kazuma custom, and a 10'10" (Big Blue) Sean Ordonez (also for friends, etc).
Theses are just our sup boards. The ones I have on my truck all the time are the 9'0" Dave Peterson and 8'10" Kazuma (and Trip's 10' Kazuma).  Worse than potato chips - can't stop at just one.

5 + 1 for my wife...she would say 4 + 2.... ::)

My brand spanking new custom Vec 14' downwinder, 12-6 Starboard Cruiser, 11-2 Starboard Blend, 10-6 C4, 9-8 Starboard Element + 11' Oxbow.
The 11-2 and 10-6 are my go to boards for surf with the edge going to the 11-2. The 9-8 comes out when it's glassy and bigger. The 12-6 has been a work horse...my 1st board and until I got the Vec my go to for cruising and distance. I've also surfed it a lot. She will be my primary fishing board and for family/friends. The Vec is going to see a lot of water...fast and very fun on wind swell.

11' 2" Starboard Blend which has now been passed down to mywife.  Great paddle board and good in waves for that "longboard" feeling

9' 6" Coreban Performer..this board rips and blew me away this last week while surfing Bill.  Paddles great, stable, catches waves with ease and reminds me of my 6 8 fish on the waves.
Hobie Raw 8'10"
Jimmy Lewis Kwad 8'7"
Naish Hover 95 liter 5'7"
F-One Rocket foil board 5'5" 90 liters
Fanatic Aero 1250, 1500, 1750 HA foils
CabrinhaMantis 3.5, 4m 5m. F-One Strike 7m CWC
Hobie 14' race board

Here’s my testimonial:

Well, I consider myself a newbie to sup but (and there is always a “but”) I’m a freaking gear addicted guy and tried really hard to stay sober at a one board quiver (PSH 10’3). That commitment lasted for about 2 weeks or so and I bought myself two other boards (PSH 11’ & PSH 9’6WAA) in a row.

A couple of months later I improved my skills (or thought so) and, as no big swells but only mushy waves were breaking around here (Rio de Janeiro), I thought: - Hummm! It’s time for a board with better noseriding capabilities and some more old school oriented performance… Next thing I knew, I had a 11’ Laird Surftech wood veneer sitting at my garage…

Then this friend of mine offered me a great deal on a 11’ Surftech Takayama that performed a super easy nose ride. I tried to resist it but I was weak…

Then bigger swells started to hit our coast and I felt like I desperately needed (and could not live without) a board to allow me better ride steeper sections. Bam! I traded my PSH 10’3 for a 9’3 ripper!

Then I got the chance to ride a Terry Chung 9’6 Quad Fish and just kept thinking – day in, day out - about it… After all, at that point I didn’t have a quad fin board, nor a fish tail board. So it was like getting two different board at the price of one (well, at least I convinced myself that). So, I sold the 9’6 WAA and bought this same size quad fish.

Then my wife, seeing she could not fight this, joined the game and gave me THE best gift I ever had in my life: a 8’11 Terry Chung, 5 fin setup. Wow!! That board was magical…

Then PSH released some breaking news: new models on their way! Of course I need one (maybe more) of those boards too!! So I got a friend interested in my 9’3 ripper and, broken hearted, I sold it. Wisely, I decided to wait for those new PSH babies… Well… I’m still waiting for those new boards, but, meanwhile, I saw this Terry Chung 9’8 semigun quad on the shop and… Well, you all know what happened…

Anyway, long story short, at this point I have 6 sup boards and a 12’ gun backordered.

Mahalo do Brazil,
Bob.

I am addicted to SUP and I am a SUP gear junkie:

Laird 12'1"- My first ever SUP board and I will keep it forever. Plus it is great to lend to friends starting out.

C4 10'6" - My secord board, and for me, a great next step from the Laird.
PSH 9'3" Ripper- Awesome fun in clean surf.
PSH 10'3" AA- awesome all around board.
PSH 9'6" WAA- My favorite board in the surf right now. Stable, turns great and it is great for the typical conditions we get where I live.

Bark 14ft distance/downwind board. I love this board. It is stable, fast and really fun to paddle. Plus Joe Bark and Charlie are two of the best humans on the planet.
And I have an ULI 10' for travel. It is great fun and Jim, Chris and Steamroller are awesome.

Wow, I guess I do have a problem :)

4) #1 11'6" x 24 walden surfboard I use for flat water
     #2 11'6" c4
      #3 10'6" psh AA
       #4 9'6" psh W Ripper
Love em all.  Took the 11'6" c4 out the other day in 1-2 ' ankle snappers and had a blast.  I almost forgot how much fun it is to ride a TANKER in Small surf.  Hell that reminded me there are alot more ridable days again.  when I fierst started would surf anything anytime.
