Laird with sailors vid

Is it just me or does it look like Laird is getting frustrated with the windsurfers for not remembering how to do 8's?  :D

I have eared that in Hawaii, you have officially laws for priority between surfers and windsurfers, with time  tables..
In that particular case (1 SUPer among the windsurfers), in clearly good conditions for windsurfing, does Laird have any preferency or is he just another in the water, so the peak placement is the applied rule?

That's a tough decision.  Do I stay on my SUP (awesome waves) or do i go out on my board and rig (5.0m2 with my Foote 8'2" would be sweet).  Two good sports which both would work that day.

There are no rules at Ho'okipa, or anywhere on Maui about who can be on the water on what equipment.  No one except windsurfers and Laird are out because of the conditions.  To be out there on a Stand Up or a prone board in those conditions is heavy.  Way heavier than it looks.

Well, actually there are some rules... No windsurfing before 11:00am is one that comes to mind... Gives the divers and fisherman some early morning peace. Been in place for many years. There are some kiting rules too but forgot what they are...

I wonder if Laird is getting ready to ride that board at Jaws on a big day?

Looks a lot like the 14 that he was using at Jaws two years ago, not that it means anything. Not much happening at Peahi until next winter.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.
