Best Warm Weather Winging Spots For The Winter
« on: December 06, 2023, 09:10:31 AM »
Looking for the best winging spots to spend a couple months in. I need to be in east coast time or central time for work purposes. I have family in the Tampa and New Smyrna beach, fl. Have never seen anyone winging in New Smyrna Beach, anyone wing there? Tampa seems to have a decent amount of wingers. Doesn’t seem to have much in the wave department.

Are you limited to the continental US?  Caribbean probably has better locations that would fulfill your requirements otherwise (and in some instances much cheaper)

US - Jupiter / Stuart, Florida
Caribbean - Grenadines, Turks, Barbados, etc... (too many to list)
S. America - Colombia, Peru, Ecuador

Unfortunately limited to the continental US. Definitely something to consider once I am done working.

Add Texas to the list.  Galveston, South Padre, and Corpus Christi.  I haven't been but I have friends who go and it looks like the conditions can be great.  Not sure about consistency though.

Miami area is great for winging and warmth. Key Biscayne has several locations with flat water and waves to choose from. Miami beach does also.

Winged Quintana yesterday which is near Galveston. Water 61 air 62 and dropping. Head south :)

45 water and 45 air temp in the gorge today. Galveston sounds like a dream in comparison ;D

Time zones are kind of arbitrary. Couldn't you just adjust your own habits such that you were present during the required hours?

My Ottawa based employer used to schedule 9 am meetings. Yup, 6 am Pacific, but then I was off at 2 pm.

I go to SE Florida and generally range from Fort Pierce to Jupiter. Lots of spots to handle any wind direction.
