Any 'larger fit' impact vest recommendations?
« on: August 24, 2023, 12:52:52 PM »

My BMI is not what it used to be.  Torso is more barrel shaped than V shaped.

Has anyone run across an impact vest, prefereably zippered, that fits larger?

Hi Dusk
I like my  Liquid Force "Ghost" impact vest
Worn it at 240 lbs down to 220 lbs... I like it snug, so it won't lift up during a wipeout

If you check out pfd, I haven't found one that is more comfortable than Body Glove (thank you Beasho).  The shape has plenty of cutaway under the arms which makes paddling comfortable compared to other brands.

I have been wanting to try their impact vests.
Non USCGA XXL = 44-48"
USCGA XXL = 49-53"

I like wearing the Phantom when the waves get double overhead +.

For impact vests I have tried Oneil (true to size) and Patagonia (go up 1 size), both are adequate.  I wear an impact under my fullsuits, over a shorty or board shorts in the summer.
I have a history of cracking ribs so an impact vest is part of my daily gear.
