Installing Chinook 16" boxes
« on: March 20, 2023, 12:00:48 AM »
Anyone here installed these yet?  I normally use the Futures 10.75" boxes - but it would be nice to have the extra adjusting room for the foil.

I wondering what router bits you are using, if you made a jig (or two); or if Chinook has a kit (which I've looked for but can't find - next step is to call them).

Mahalo!

I made my own jig for installing chinook boxes. Just a big picture frame basically sized for my bit and trim router. It’s 4 pieces of 1x2 trim with angle brackets keeping it square. Measure carefully and it's not hard. Mine is for the 10.5" boxes but same idea.

Yes.  Two man free handed, sorta accurate and kinda sketchy.

No they don't have bits or jigs.

I am about 7 sessions in and they seem solid as expected.

A setup like the future one shot would be much easier, maybe someone can make one?  Chinook told me the CAD file for the boxes is in the Shape3D library...
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.
