Dock starting in SoCal
« on: January 18, 2023, 11:00:16 PM »
Does anyone know where it is possible to dockstart in the long beach -> Newport beach area? Ideally with a dock with overhang. Thank you

Join the LAFC whatsapp. Guys on there are dockstarting somewhere down by you. I'm up closer to Ventura so I don't know exactly where. Anyone that wants to join, DM me your whatsapp #.

I found a spot near my home by trolling through google maps.  I'm not close to you, but I easily found about a dozen docks that were "public" that I never would have found any other way.  My favorite is one is invisible from a street or sidewalk and is part of an apartment complex that says its only for residents, but they seem to enjoy watching me flail about whenever I go there.

You can always put a ladder up in the ocean and practice drop starts. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CmAg_L2jS1X/?igshid=Zjc2ZTc4Nzk=

A long base keeps the foil from falling over or have someone stand on a rung while you jump. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Opd7wryU6Lw
That how I set up my ladder. Great fun.
