WTB board and paddle
« on: October 18, 2022, 09:51:45 AM »
Hey folks.  Took a season off SUP since I have been paddling a lot of Vaa outrigger.  I'm looking to pick up a board again for mostly flat water fun/fitness paddling.  I was thinking SB Allstar, SIC, Infinity blackfish or something like that.  My last Whiplash was 26" so I'd like to stay around that width in case I decide to do anything but dead flat water.

Also looking for a paddle.  My last Kenalu was cut about 82/83 for me (6ft).  If any one on the upper east cost has anything, let me know.  I'm about 1.5hrs west of Phili.

Thanks

I'm assuming composite board, not inflatable?

Absolutely, good point.  I’m looking for a composite board.

Definitely going to inquire about that one.  Also find a guy down south who has a SIC X14 Pro for about the same money.  I'm heading down in a month to see my sister close to their so might consider that one as well.

Price wise that's definitely more up my alley than spending $2k.  I was thinking max $1500.

Also wanted to mention that I would like a fixed paddle not adjustable.  Had a Kenalu Maliko and Mana previously.  Liked both because you could put the extended ergo T on it and really work on dialing in the length and have it be a fixed length paddle.

Well I am now the proud owner of a 2021 Starboard Sprint.  Looking forward to giving it a shot.

Now time to find a paddle.  I'm 6ft and last I remember (haven't paddled SUP for a year), was I was paddling an 81" I think (I'm 6ft).  I've been told the next will be shorter due to the board having a recessed deck.

Anyone looking to thin their heard, let me know.
