Hurricane Earl Swell
« on: September 10, 2022, 04:12:54 PM »
Hurricane Earl is right offshore and my local was kind today. First solid tropical swell of the season and good sand. Morning was tough though relentless overhead sets closing out and constant white water. Waited like 10 mins on the second paddle out to jump in and then got denied 2x, third times a charm I guess.

Did a double today down by Atlantic City. The afternoon paddle out with the low tide was a little more forgiving than this morning but not by much.  It's amazing how we take a ten-minute pounding for a 15-second ride but I am looking forward to another pounding tomorrow morning! Have to say, the conditions have not been perfect but there were bombs out there today!

I forgot to mention that a friend of mine was shooting w/his drone and it went into the surf. Someone actually found it in the ocean and posted it in the local Lost and Found FB page!

Looks like fun Cook.  My part of Florida has been great all week.  My shoulders feel like they want to fall off.

Great stuff SC!  Has been a great couple of days up here too.  Got some leftover shoulder high swell this morning, looking a bit smaller but should clean for tomorrow morning  too!

Those are some cool drone shots. A fresh vantage point.

Yes the North Atlantic is alive and well as the fall begins!

Rockaway had 4 days of windows for Earl goods.
Saturday was a classic. Big aframes all glassy and head high. First big session since my THR. Surfed as well as ever. Didnt even think of my hip once. I am redeemed. Of course now my shoulders hurt!
That rock's a dead giveaway JPeter. And that spot may be the shit when Fiona visits this week.
Ill be out of town for a good reason, so i will miss out. grrrrrrrrrrr
