So the wind sports trade show is going on at the Gorge and it’s cool to see new products and upcoming product launches. Social media makes it easy to get updates. Share anything on this thread and discuss.

Looks like Armstrong is putting their toes in the DW Sup Foil game.  Good looking boards!

It’s looking like 2022 is the year of the Kalama inspired tails and hard handles on wings.

I’m surprised some many brands were able to rush Kalama inspired shapes into production so quickly. Well maybe just prototypes for the show. It pretty much shows just how good the concept is when everyone goes for it.

AXIS is supposed to have DW boards too. And a ART 699.

Anyone have pictures and a wingspan for the lift ha150?

@HDIP re Lift 150HA -  All the lift HAs are 37 in wide and pretty much the same shape (just more or less chord).  If ever there was a wing that i didn't need to lay eyes on before riding it, its that one.

The original lift HA wings are all 37 in wide. ha170, ha200, ha250.

The ha120 is 35" wide.

HA90 is narrower yet again, I forget the measurement. I can measure that one for you if you'd like. It's 32" or 30".

So turns out that the world record continuous surf foil (2:46 minutes I think) by Oskar was done on a new Armstrong 85cm mast and he said the stiffness in the new one is next level.   :D

Big! releases form Ocean Rodeo/ Aluula.
Almost every brand with wings came to check out those.

This black material from Aluula is called Graflyte and it's lighter than the Aluula Gold but almost as stiff, you'd almost won't feel the difference in stiffness on wings under 5m but you will notice the weight difference which is crazy if you know how light the Aluula gold already is.

This 5M is 2.2LBS!

Dying to learn more about this.  I'm not all that excited about this material on the frame (as you said, Aluula gold is already crazy light - not sure whether the incremental gain is meaningful to me), but a stronger canopy material is VERY exciting.  I saw this on some of the OR kites, good to see it coming to the wings too.

Interesting that they highlight the tear resistance of Aluula Aeris, but don't mention its durability in terms of stretching out.

Guessing there will be an AX series, A series and maybe the HL.

That is crazy, about half the weight of a 5M strike (4.4Lbs).
Hope they put a real LE handle on it.

For context, my 5m A series was exactly 4 lb (with all three handles but no leash).

To those in attendance of AWSI

Could someone please go to the Cabrinha/DaKine/Neil Pryde/Adventure Sports tent and find out what is going on with Neil Pryde development/distribution and also report on what DaKine plans to offering up for 2023?

Much appreciated!

Enjoy the East winds today!

Only time will tell how stretch resistant this material is but based on the tear test
I saw there was not much give in the material.

It took a 6 year old kid to tear the Dacron like a paper towel.
Two strong man could not separate a torn piece of the new Aeris X.

The new A series has both Aluula Gold and Graflyte at the ends of the leading edge. The canopy material is the same as the AX only more heavy duty.

So the A series is lighter as well, they felt the addition of the Graflyte at the ends
improves the flight performance of the wing. I'd didn't have much time on it but I could feel it's more refined than the current A series in the gusts specifically.

The HL has the Graflyte airframe with Dacron Canopy.

New Bladder material called Atom. Half the weight, 3 time stiffer and more puncture resistant.

Is this even open to consumers? Previous years we had to peak over the fence.
