Foil for first SUP foil session
« on: September 04, 2022, 04:09:19 PM »
Been wingnutting (wing foiling) as my wife calls it for my first summer season now and decent  at flying on both tacks now, still cant jibe,  anyway that is another story...... I have the 2022 Naish Hover Crossover 7'4" 120L and had some good SUP surfing sessions on it. 185 lbs here. Question, I have the F-One 1800 Gravity and F-One Phantom 1280 on there medium fuse. Which should I use for my maiden SUP foil? Will be in crumbly/ rolly beach break at medium to high tides, 2-4 ft waves.
185 lb, 5' 10"
Starboard 9' Pro  (windsup option)
Mistral Pacifico Wave 11' (windsup option)
Starboard 8'5" Pocket Rocket (windsup option)
Naish Hover Crossover 7'4" (windfoil, wingfoil, SUP foil, SUP)

2-4 foot waves are head high to overhead in foiling terms. So I would try the smaller foil first. Either way you're going to be getting launched to begin with, so make sure to have plenty of room around and in front of you.

Hdip knows this because he saw my first sessions on a 2200 foil. Better to not take off. Waves hit fast unlike the gentle start winging.

I need to go SUP foil again.
