I've been happy with the Ride Engine harness with an NSI plastic hook.  I thought it might be a pain in the ass to take on and off with three separate belts, but it actually takes about 20 seconds and the adjustment is easy and it stays put where you adjust it.  No drawbacks that I've experienced.  I hook my board leash to a rope strung across the back with a quick release (and still use a wrist leash for the wing).

I've been using F1 harness lines attached with kite pigtails to handles on OR wings, and to the built-in attachments on an F1 CWC.  Has worked fine for me.  And I love having a harness to cruise upwind.

I have the NSI minimalist one. Its good. I like that with one squeeze I can take it off and release my board and wing in case of a wave situation. I like the light weight as well.

I dont like that it hurts my back when loaded up - for some reason when I unhook is when it hurts. It moves around too much so when I fall the harness is rotated 90 degrees. I ride really loaded up quite often for long upwind tacks.

Im looking at the Ion Rogue harness as an upgrade, but balking at the price, especially when my wing ripped off my garmin in a jibe and I tore my wing - $450 session. :'(

I own the Ion and Ride Engine wing harnesses.

The Ion did not sit low on my back. I think the shape made it want to settle a little higher on my back, so not as comfortable. Its also missing a waist belt, that would help it stay in place.

The Ride Engine works better for me. Although I changed the hook to a 6 inch spreader bar for less pinching at high loads.

I am extremely happy with my setup now.  For a long time I used a pretty simple 2" waist leash strap with the NSI 2" plastic hook.

The NSI harness is a sweet upgrade and is very comfortable.  I did quite a bit of customization.
*added the reel leash for the board, which has worked out incredibly well so I don't land anywhere near the board/foil (previously ripped my wings several times with the foil on wipeouts)
*added shackle for my wing leash.  Wing leash is a piece of dyneema with eye splices and attaches to my waist on the right side
*upgraded the belt buckle to COBRA quick release

I'm also using the NSI Minimalist harness. I had the local gear doc replace the plastic Fastex buckle with an aluminum buckle from a climbing harness. I sometimes attach a leash to the harness and don't trust a plastic buckle. It works great with the NSI hook and a windsurf harness line.

I own this WIP waist belt with hook and love it. I attach a big wave coiled leash to it.

The plastic hook slides out of the way easily when not in use or when climbing back on your board.  Really minimalist design but well made and strong.

I have the Dakine Solo harness and it is the only one I found that I like. The hook is thin enough that you do not feel it  laying on the board. It is easy to put it on and off. It is comfortable in use although heavily loaded it will squeeze me a bit although I rarely load it enough that it is a problem.

Get ready for a weird one. Couldn't breathe with a waist belt harness. Didn't want a long harness line. I wear an impact vest. Lightweight at 140 lbs. So here goes.

Kaohi belt leash with a 3D printed hook. No padding. I wear it up right under my arms, around my chest, hook in the middle. Harness line is bungee and short. Easy to hook, easy to ride. I know no other way lol.

It's comfortable and the pull is the same angle as my arms instead of suddenly shifting to my waist.

These things don't pull that hard really.

For the harness line, I prefer a simple 5mm cord with loops sewn to the ends.  It's easy to tie it to the handle when I want it out of the way, and it isn't as annoying as a heavier line with a plastic tube when pumping.  I just tie extra knots in it if I want to shorten it.

For the hook, I use one 3d printed one out of a hard TPU rubber, the rubber is less likely to damage my board and I like the way it flexes slightly to take up a small amount of slack.  I use the hook with a $9 Jayefo weightlifting belt that Jeff Clark recommended here, it's been working well (it works well for pulling snow sleds in the winter too).  I bought several and leave one attached to each wing.

I double the recommendation for the $10 Harness Belt. Jayefo Sports Weightlifting on Amazon.

I have been using this for the past year with a printed hook (or hook made from cutting board).  Its so cheap its disposable, works great

It's pricey but I'm really happy with the new dakine fly wing.. Great support.. Doesn't take on any water.. Put my trusty reel leash on the back.. Nice!

DaKine solo wing harness
GONG harness lines

Just started using harness, wow what a difference!
Solo has sturdy metal buckle, great flat hook.
Gong harness lines are inexpensive and pretty trick!

Curious how you attached the real leash? Drill through and bolt it in place?

I've been happy with my Ride Engine Vinaka harness. Here's what I like about it:
- easy to slide bar to the side when I need to paddle the board
- easy to slide the bar to ride hooked in on toeside
- two d-rings (one on either side) which I use for my board leash and maybe someday for my wing leash

Not much to dislike. I have also tied a 4-5' piece of spectra between the d-rings in case I need to tie something up like my wing, etc.
