Travel Bags for Sup?
« on: October 22, 2022, 05:26:29 PM »
Looking for some air travel with a 7'10 sup (possibly up to 8'6) and likely one short board of 6 feet.
What are the best options ? Buy a large coffin? (expensive)
Box it with tons of bubble wrap? (Hassle)

Suspect you all have sussed this out

THanks

Post Covid - this has become a bit of a dance for me at the airport. Where before I would stuff two boards into one bag along with clothes and stuff for the trip and hope the zippers held - now it’s become a balance of weight and size. I figure I have had many year of not paying extra or paying just for an extra piece of luggage (suitcase cost) that I take two separate board bags and still hope for the best.

Get a Porter at the airport with a trolley - they help cutting lines, getting to friendly counter staff, etc.

On packing I make hard cardboard caps lined with bubble wrap for both the nose n tails of my boards - rear of the board gets one layer of bubble wrap.

Hope that helps 😀🤙
