Wing Center Strut Clamp
« on: May 02, 2022, 07:07:11 AM »
When I ride Ensis I clamp center strut, deflate leading edge strut, roll up and throw in van.  Makes for better storage and quick inflation for next session.

I also have CWC Strike and Mantis so I am looking for a solution/clamp to do the same with these wings.  Any suggestions appreciated.

With Ensis I have experimented with higher pressure in center strut and less in the other.  Would like to do same with CWC and Mantis.

TIA

I have the 6m CWC and find that it is really easy to pack up compared other wings I've ridden (takuma, ozone, duotone unit v2) as the center strut deflates quickly with the dump valve and there are no windows to worry about.

Here are the steps I use to pack up quickly:
1. open main valve and cover up with neoprene cover to avoid sand intrusion
2. open center strut dump valve
3. gently roll the center strut from the tip towards the leading edge of wing
4. close dump valve after all center strut air is out
5. unroll center strut so that wing is flat
6. grab the wing tip on the side with the main valve and fold wing in half
7. push air out of both "mini struts"
8. roll both wing tips together towards the main strut and then on top of main strut
9. fold a few times (3 or 4)
10. lightly wrap leash and throw it in the bag

This doesn't answer/solve your question about how to keep air in the center strut but after a few times, this method is pretty easy.
