North Carolina
« on: April 22, 2022, 03:39:43 AM »
Hi,
I'm going to be visiting the Raleigh NC area a few weekends between now and the end of the year.  Can anyone recommend good rental locations nearby or on the coast. I'm experienced at Flatwater and Surf SUP.

Also starting to get into WingFoiling if you can recommend somewhere that gives lessons.

Thanks in advance.

I used to love to surf at Wrightsville Beach when I did business in NC. great beach town..a couple surf shops who would rent boards I am sure..not sure about Winging there, but I am sure they have it.
Its 2 hr drive but straight shot down the highway 40.  It's worth the trip if the waves are good

Thanks both.
Wrightsville sounds interesting, maybe only 2 hours drive.  Outer banks looks much further, would probably need to do that over a couple of days.

Thanks again.

I've never been to Wrightville beach but it sounds like a great beach town. I'm a huge fan of the outer banks, but unfortunately, my experience there dates from the 70's. It may have changed a bit.

FYI, my buddy lives in Wrightsville beach. He says the southern tip is the kiting area and folks are out most days so it's probably a good bet the kiters are starting the evolution process to a higher level (winging).    ;)
