Anything is possible in video editing. Clearly, the tailless part is possible as Beasho and others have demonstrated long ago and the wingless version is a pretty funny way to end the video.  I wonder what happened with Giampaolo's experiments with minimal stabilizers. I thought it would be productive, at least as far as speed goes. Stabilizer drag is a compromise between stability and turning ability. With a long enough lever, a tail wing can stabilize with a tiny area and minimal lift/drag. If anyone starts trying to optimize straight-line speed I'd expect the progression to go that way.
