Oregon sunshine
« on: February 09, 2022, 10:16:50 PM »
New member, but long-time lurker on this site - learned a ton from you all, thank you!
My son got me into SUP surfing 5 years ago at age 50 (my age, not his  ;D), and my only regret is that I didn't start surfing sooner!
Totally, absolutely hooked.
It's been a great fall/winter on the Oregon coast! (photo by my son)

Welcome, Lurker!
Looks like you found your paradise. Sup surfing is quite addictive! Hustle down peaks easier, catch WAY more waves and ride them WAY longer too! I'm 11 years on a sup now!
Check it out!

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Awesome!

Where do you like to surf?

Newport OR area with occasional forays northward and south. But my preference is empty over perfect so I'm always looking for the quiet corner ;)

Empty always beats perfect. The few times I ventured down to the Newport area I always had decent surf and a nice time. I've stayed at the funky Agate Beach Motel a few times and enjoyed the surf a short walk away.
