The City of San Clemente is different from the State Park - The article will says the city will ban bikes from the City trail along the beach & some other city trails.
Beach Trail walkers have always been angry about bikes on the beach trail since it was built. The pavement to Lowers & Trestles is in the State Park, not controlled by the city. So E- bike on brother!

People are so weird. Any case for banning e-bike is much stronger for banning cars. In California, about 4000 people are killed and 25,000 people seriously injured in car crashes each year. An eBike hits a dog and it's news. About 1 million dogs and 4 million cats are killed by cars each year and nobody reacts.

It's new, so it's bad. People are weird. Governments respond to mindless Karens and whatever the male equivalent of a Karen is.

Oh, and Stabmag has the second largest collection of dickhead writers per reader.  Epoch Times is the clear winner in the dickhead derby though.

I can't find it - but at the WSL contest in Sept- a photo of the e-bikes on the beach was captioned - A surf contest breaks out at an e-bike convention. HA

People we complaining on the Beach Trail before e-bikes back in the I-phone 4 days

Apparently, they'd like it better if all those folks came in Hummers.

OK, so here's the original article that Scab Magazine pulled pieces out of to merely agitate the hand-wringers wanting to feign indignation of something that won't be happening.

The City of San Clemente is only considering changes of their "Beach Trail" that runs from North Beach to State Beach (Califia), and some "inland trails" within the city. As "finbox" stated, Trestles, Sano, and Trails aren't even in San Clemente's jurisdiction, but rather the CA State Beach system. Hell, they're not even serviced by OC sheriff or fire, but rather State Park Police, Lifeguards, and Camp Pendleton PD and Fire.

So no one in SC is going to be banning e-bikes at any of the State Park's (San Diego county, not OC) surf beaches.

If there's anything to possibly get concerned about, is that the State and DoD still haven't renewed the State's lease for Sano that expired this past year. It's currently open on a 3 year lease extension while the Marine Base it's located on does a feasibility study as to whether or not it needs to take it back or not. Now that's something Scab Mag could/should be writing about, but I'm sure that's too deep for their shallow minds.  ::) >:(
