BSC 890 / 425P - Thoughts on this setup for winging?
« on: December 17, 2021, 11:57:57 AM »
I'm an intermediate winger (jibing on foil consistently), 75kg, Fanatic 95L, currently riding Naish Jet 1650 and Jet 2000 foils.   Winging Hood River, so let's say 10-30kts.  Mowing the lawn mostly but hopefully downwinding some next year.

I'm interested in a faster foil with more glide, but want something that's still user friendly, turns well, and has good low end.  I expect I'd get an HPS foil later, but for now I had my I on the BSC890.

Any thoughts on this setup?  In particular would the 425 Progressive be a good stab?  I like the idea of maintaining a good amount of pitch stability which is why I was thinking the 425 vs the 400 or 375.  Would be getting the short fuse.  Any thoughts on the 425P for winging vs the 420 or vs a smaller progressive stab?

Thanks much!

I have winged the shit out of the 890. It turns your spot into a skatepark. I have used it with the ultrashort and crazyshort fuse. Mostly with 380 stab but lately on the 375P. I am 85kg. I think a great axis combo is the ART 999 and the 890bsc. This covers almost all conditions.  I mean really, the ART covers almost all. I recommend that you ease into the low drag foils because the problem is that once you get a taste of how slippery things can be, you will start to become extremely bothered by any kind of drag. You might as well get a carbon mast while you are at it because the aluminum masts are draggy ass pigs once youve experienced the slipperiness of carbon mast. I ride the 86cm. Its perfect all arounder. I think at your 75kgs, you could go easily to the 375p or 350p stab. Send it!!!!!

The 400P and 890 is a really good setup to build from for everything. I'd start with a short fuselage.
Surfing, suping, winging, ogling.

Axis is a really good system to invest in.

I have that 890 up f grabs on the classified page.
