quiver bag for travel?
« on: November 12, 2021, 12:43:23 PM »
Can anyone recommend a travel bag for 2 wings and pump? (no foil or board)
I have 2 Duotone Units 5 & 6 m (NO BOOM) they pack in their bags to about 36" and 48" long.  The windsurfing quiver bags I find are way too long...
Thanks

That's an interesting idea Blokidog and looks like it works well, unfortunately my boom bag is at my destination.
Most bags I am finding are either too short or much too long.

I see a few kitesurfing bags which might work, but they are still pretty long.

I just used a big duffel bag. Nothing fancy but could fit 2 wings, pump and still had room for my foil/mast/etc.  This is the one I got, doesn't come with a shoulder strap, but I stole one off another bag.

hey BigMTN I was just looking at that EXACT bag on Amazon..love the simplicity of it and easy to store when not using.  Glad it worked for you
I'd have to use the 50" version  .  The Duotone Units have windows, so I have to be careful packing...I can't pack them as small as say an F-One.  The 5m is 36" the 6m 48" long folded.

That duffle is a nice option and nice price versus some $150 kite bag,.

Does golf equipment still travel free? Use a literal golf bag.

I use a DaKine Golf bag. It holds a bunch of foils and masts as well wingdings. I also used a duffel for the overflow this year to keep the weight under 70 pounds. No charge on Hawaiian, so I guess the golf bag scam still works.

I saw those golf bags and they are ideal if I had a board and foil, but just have a couple wings and pump so trying to find something smaller.  I think I found the perfect duffel bag. Thanks Bigmtn

Actually, it won't fit any of my foil boards, I'm in the fatass category, so I don't have any board shorter than 5'10"X 30". The biggest advantage of a golf bag is you can stick everything in it other than what you want in your carry-on and it generally flies for free, even if it's heavy.

This is an Aussie site, but it lists the relaxed travel restrictions for golf bags. This stuff may change, the airlines are starting to REALLY suck, but for now:

I bought one of these 47" Infanzia bags for my 5m Unit.  Two will fit in it perfectly.

Thanks Badger , I found a nice 42" duffle bag which will hold my Unit 5M , pump, helmet, beach towel and a bunch more stuff. arrived today and will be perfect for my needs.  I can't fit the 6m, but I doubt I will need more than 5m and if I do, I will just surf...

That bag you bought looks like a good one too.
