Will Duotone valve adapter fit an F-One pump?
« on: October 26, 2021, 01:20:09 PM »
Hello, I have a F-One wing and pump but they are  out of the country so I can't check if it will accept a Duotone valve for Duotone Wing?  Hopefully the valves are interchangeable and I don't have to bring a 2nd pump...

thanks for any answers...

You don’t need a another pump, just the correct adapter. Duotone invented their own proprietary valve that is not compatible with anyone.

Fone ships wing with adapter. Duotone does not supply adapter.

I can say absolutely, since that's one of the setups I use. The connector on the pumps seems somewhat standardized, the F-one adapter is proprietary, but every wing ships with one and it fits right on the duotone pump.

I did come across one pump that didn't fit the adapter properly. it looked right, but the nose of the adapter was about an mm too long. I used the very high-tech method of scuffing it on a sidewalk to sand it down.

I use Duotone pump and the hose will not accept f-one adapter. I had to get wfm hose to fit f-one adapter.

Thanks, I am planning to put the Duotone adapter on the hose of the F-One pump.  I Will be using F-One Swing and Duotone Unit wings.  Sounds like it will work. Thanks everyone

Now that I think about it, I do remember that the duotone pump fits the adapter a little wonky. It almost fits properly, and will work, sort of, but I think I had to modify it to make it fit well. That might have been what I did the sidewalk mod to.

I bought a new Duotone high volume pump last week and the F-One adapter fits well.
But I had also sanded the base of that adapter with the sidewalk some time ago to make it fit my previous pump.

Here is what I remember. The Duotone valves suck. The silicone ring wears out (gets compressed) so it leaks when inserted and twisted. Have to replace seal every 6 months.

Or what I discovered. Take the F-one or Naish (identical valves) with two urethane seals stacked onto that fitting. Then it fits the Duotone valve super tight with zero leaks EVER.

So you can take the F-one pump adapter and use one urethane seal when pumping the Fone, and two stacked, when pumping the Duotone and throw the Duotone adapter in the trash…haha.
