My friend in NC was bitten in the Spring. It bit his foil, knocking him down, then attacked him. He punched it hard to get free from it.

Running into it is probably the best tactic. Sharks don't get pissed off. All they know is to eat or flee. They aren't going to hang around to look at what hit them.
