Volume of new (to me) 9' Angulo Surfa?
« on: October 24, 2021, 07:20:24 AM »
Great forum, first post.

Recently purchased a 2013 Angula Surfa (9', 31.25", 4"), but can't find info anywhere on volume. I think it's somewhere in the 130-140L range.
Anyone have this board?

Hi Lava, welcome to the Zone!

The Angulo 9'0 is 140 liters... I have some friends that have surfed them since new and they still love them.

Thanks Creek, Slider!

This is a big step down in vol for me... Started a couple of years ago on a Bic Tough Tec Performer (10' 6" x 31.5" x 4.5") 185 L. HEAVY board at 32 lbs, but was able to start going down the line this summer. No prior surf experience.

The Angulo is MUCH lighter and faster. The couple of sessions I got in my NJ shore beach break about a month ago were a bit challenging due to steep surf and some wind, but was able to balance ok in choppy conditions. Was only able to stay on the board on a couple of waves and that was riding straight to shore. Need some time on smaller, cleaner waves to get used to how nimble the board is. Excited for next season as I'm hoping to do a lot more turning with the Angulo!

Also, just noticed the pic of the underside is incorrect.. it's actually 4+1 setup. Starting out with a thrusters and a 8" center fin all the way back.

Hoping the Angulo will suit me well long term, as I'm 6'0" and 80kg. Planning on still taking out the Bic barge on tiny surf days.

Thanks again!!
