Naish S26 Hover for SUP foiling?
« on: August 29, 2021, 12:27:25 PM »
Has anyone SUPfoiled a 6'4 Naish S26 Hover GS?  I recently bought it to learn wingfoiling but I'm wondering if it might also be good for SUPfoiling at some point.

I weigh 175 lbs. 125 liters floats me well. It seems plenty stable at 31" wide but I'm 64 years old and doubt I could go much narrower.

Badger - I think it should be fine, I'm on a comparable, albeit less volume 6'5" Flying-V and I'm going further down in volume/size. I'm the same weight as you. The width really helps, you will find it difficult to go back to your normal SUP probably after getting used to the shorter length/width. I think you are on a Super Frank, when I went back to mine (7'6" x 30" SF Lean) it was pretty tough to get my balance back.

So, yeah......the foil helps quite a bit too.

I SUP FOil last years model Naish S25 95 liter, 5'7" it works good. It paddles different than a 8' SUP but, that is to be expected.

I sold my 7'6 x 31" SF a few months ago to help pay for my foiling gear. My 6'4 x 31" Naish with the foil on it feels like it has about the same stability but I haven't tried it in the ocean yet. Good to know that the S26 might work for me. I couldn't find a single video of anyone using it with a paddle.

That's okay if it messes up my SUP surfing.  SUP is getting old.  I'm ready to become a foiler.   :)

Mine has been collecting dust. Actually sold my SF, because foiling replaces the size range I use it for. Still have my JL SuperTech, I've been out on it maybe at most 5 sessions since I started foiling.
