My only response to this is - never underestimate the power of people willing to risk massive bodily harm to push forward a concept!    Google EHang if you want to see the same thing, but backed by a billion USD combined with the power of a Chinese government happy to motor on despite a few people dead from crashes.

There was no scaled down model to test.  Nothing that had ever flown like it before.  Climb in and go with no helmet just a wool jacket and top hat. 

PS: Don't get me wrong the Drone Copter is totally cool.  But Igor was one of the greatest inventors of all time AND had the stones to climb on and fly the jalopy.
