Revelation about paddle grip
« on: April 18, 2021, 03:23:29 PM »
Revelation to me at least. I needed to locate the best position for some RSPro paddle grip. When paddling on the right hand side, I found my right hand was a good six inches lower on the paddle than my left hand when paddling on the left side.
It made me pay attention more on the left, and speed and power increased. I also noticed foot placement, body rotation and all sorts of things. I had grown complacent : )
I haven’t used the paddle in surf yet, but the TSPro is so light as to be a non-issue as an add-on, and it can’t hurt.
The paddle is a Werner Rip Stick. Werner’s ‘normal’ diameter carbon shaft has always struck me as a little industrially large. So I use the reduced smaller shaft option. But that has to come with a smaller handle, which is too small for my tastes. So I used a Kialoa ‘carbon T’, which fits my hand better AND I prefer a T grip for surf. So all works out. Photos are of both handles. ...and I grilled a cheeseburger...
