Short vid
« on: April 15, 2021, 02:10:05 AM »
Another short vid. I am trying to paste afew shortvids together to show a full 10k tour of the island I normally paddle around. As people have said I need to do this on a computer and stop trying on my phone. One day!

Cool. On a phone must be tough. So what is the camera mounted on?  Looks low like a board mount but it doesn’t move with it.

Camera is on a FCS plug i put in the board.
Must say the Gopro hyper smooth is pretty good.
The Gopro 7 chews the batteries though. I guess with the gps on stabilisation, high res etc its to be expected.

Mine is a 7 as well and I agree that the battery goes quick. And I don’t have any of the extras switched on.
I miss the possibility of augmenting the charge with a battery pack like the earlier models.

Try using the GoPro 'chesty'. I've been using the same one for almost 8 years or so. They are great for paddling, hiking, mountain biking, or any other Vlog'g you like to do showing how you put something together. Just a great perspective. I forget I have it on, it's that comfortable. Anything on a hat or helmet is good too, but you have to keep your head still. To much looking around makes it herky jerky. For distance paddling, I think the hat mount 'creek kook hat' is the best because you don't see the paddle going up and down in front of the lens...... as much.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

I have been thinking about a creek kook hat but don't like wearing hats and the gopro is quite heavy. I do wear a light floppy hat in the summer. I think for a long paddle it would get annoying.
Will look into some sort of chesty attachment. Again with a lifejacket on not great. Might be able to attatch it too the jacket somehow.
There is a great shop here in France that does Gopro copy stuff. I bought a double charger with 2 batteries for about a quarter of the price of the Gopro one.
The Gopro app works quite well for editing. You connect to the gopro and edit via Bluetooth and only download what you want. I am sure a computer will be quicker and easier though.

I'd use the GoPro chesty right over your life jacket. I wear it over my thick ski parka when I'm skiing. It fits under my Hydration pack when I'm hiking or mountain biking. You don't even notice you have it on.
