I have not tried this model but I have a similar volume 10x29x139l.  It is a great all around board. Works well in a wide spectrum of conditions including double overhead. It is a stable but not the most stable of my boards. Surprisingly my custom 8’4x30 RNB feels more stable. The 9’6x31 should be much more stable than the 10x29.

If 9’6 has a similar feel to 10’ you need to trim the board. New Deals have quite a lot of rocker so they are sensitive to foot placement. If you move back it is amazing how well my 10 footer turns. But it is not easy to turn from the middle. 9’6 is shorter and has a curvier outline so it may feel different.

Infinity construction is second to none. Incredible light and tough.

For reference, I am 6’4 235 pounds.

I have the 10x27 122L (195 lbs).  The board rides like a performance longboard, fairly fast and responsive.  Looking forward to hearing your impression of the 9’6”.

I had this board in this size. Slightly domed deck and super great construction.  I devoted myself to using another board, so the New Deal didn't get as much use as it deserved.  It's a fast board. Not the most inherently stable, but it is 9'6 x 31 so stable enough. I sold it and kinda sorry I did. Have fun demo'ing. I'm curious what your impression will be.

I am sure you will like it. My sunova surf has the same dims.
Should be a great all arounder.

I also have an older PSH 10-6x28.  The 28 width is definitely looser, just a whole other game stability wise.

I have a custom new deal that is 9'6" by 30 and I am just under 200 lbs.  Great board.  If I was to buy one of the productions I would buy the 10x29 to have a bit more glide.

Love this board.  Is pretty loose for its size and you can nose ride.  Also works when it gets a bit bigger as well.

Thats the one I orgianally wanted but no demo in that size. But I've been told the 10x29 for glide. Thanks

If I was ever going to buy a new sup board (terminally bitten by the foiling bug), it would definitely be the "New Deal" in 8'6x29"x114L.

The only sup board I've kept "just in case" is my Laird/Bob Pearson 9'6x28.75"x120L of similar shape that I rode when I was 200 lbs , and absolutely loved it...

That's probably why I can't seem to part with it, even though it's been up in the racks the past three years. :(

So I think the ND you're demoing is going to be a great size, shape, have plenty of liters for you, and you're going to fall in love with it. Looking forward to hearing your ride report from it. 👍🏽
Me: 6'1"/185...(2) 5'1" Kings Foil/Wing Boards...7'10 Kings DW Board...9'6" Bob Pearson "Laird Noserider"...14' Lahui Kai "Manta"...8'0" WaveStorm if/when the proning urges still hit.

I should add I have an 8’2’ custom RNB which is my better as in cleaner conditions board... I have no issues standing on the new deal even in stronger tide/chop on the east coast...

Tried that same 9'6 ND demo a few days ago in some lumpy conditions at SanO and had such a fun session I just bought one when I returned it.
Had it out again this morning and was even better, even as tide was coming in.  Foot position and moving around on this board is taking some getting used to for me after riding mostly 8'7 to 8'10 boards but not a big deal.  Amazed at how well it turns for a bigger board.   Kind of the perfect board for SanO.

Good to hear, I was ready to pull the trigger today when I returned it but was wanting to try the 10x29. I will say that I am a newbie to the sup surf world and it was challenging for me to feel stable lots of falls ;) but I suppose its just seat time on the board.

I had the privilege of owning a 9'6" x 31" New Deal. Super light, bomber construction,  worked well in small waves and in DOH hurricane swells.

Sold it before my move to Georgia. Wish I still had it. It was not a noseriding specialty board, but as a performance all arounder was excellent.

Congrats and finding a new "magic" board. I bought an Infinity New Deal 10X27 a few years ago on a flyer when they had a deeply discounted online sale. It arrived, looked super great, was amazingly light and my fucked up knee just could not handle the instability. Now that I have had and fully recovered from a partial knee replacement I am loving it. I cannot believe how fast down line this thing is. I need to train my brain to keep up. I do agree you need to move around on this board to get the most of it but I think that would be true of most boards over 9 feet. I learned on a 9'6 X 291/2 coreban that had gobs of rocker and most people found unstable but that was all I knew. I think it was great training for this board. Any this opinion and $1.35 will get you on the T.
