This bad boy is waiting for me in Maui. Six days left before we head back. I plan to be wet 99 percent of the daylight hours while we're there. 5'11" X 29" 130L. Not sure about the weight, but I'd guess somewhere around 12-13 pounds, though Mark knows I'm hard on equipment, so maybe a bit heavier.

what's the big black circle on the aft-deck?

btw - really elegant lines on this one.  Very pleasing to my eye.

Vent--Mark uses a large Goretex vent these days. I told him I wanted it to look like this one, but he said "no channel for a wing foiling board" so I went with his recommendation. The deck plate was a complication that didn't work out, and I didn't want that anyway. If I want straps (unlikely) I'll add NSI stick-ons, which I prefer--no holes in the board.

Yes, Mark is pretty much the quality and leading edge of construction methods master. There's nothing decorative on that board, even though it's pretty. No paint. The handle is the same EZ grab dish he created for SIC boards that lets you manhandle a 17-foot board in high wind with ease. In this case, the idea is to carry the board with the foil pointed away from you and your wing. No deck handle at all.
The vent is big but flat. I don't know if that's something Mark developed or he chooses to use, but it's a high-volume Goretex vent. It's so big that it's hard to plug it up.

And yes, Carib, Mark started and owned SIC, sold it. Now he just does foil boards. Mark has always been super hands-on in the water, riding everything he builds. He's a hell of a craftsman, can make anything that can be done in composite.

A friend here in Rhode Island just got one with the same shape/design and no kick tail. His is 90 L and weighs 11 lbs. The interesting thing is the bottom contour is slightly CONVEX!! Yours looks the same. I'm in the production queue which is August currently ugghh. But I have 2 custom boards coming shortly from Tarifa.

Real nice looking board! Do these darker color boards require any extra precautions from the hot sun?

In my experience, yes. I had a carbon Blackfish that would be too hot to touch in just a few moments of full sun. This might not be quite so sensitive since it's more grey than black. We'll see. if it's a PITA it might get a wrap. I'm fiddling around with vinyl wraps for other projects, and I like the idea of using something nearly weightless to color a board. I hope not though, I sure like the way this looks.

Interesting Idea.  You might try (You probably thought) about Monokote used on remote control airplanes.  Lightweight mylar with GLUE backing that sticks and Shrinks.  You wouldn't need to cover the entire board to look perfect but just the flats.  Then again there is the foot stick, e.g. use WAX.  ???

Great looking board.  I forwarded it around and now everybody wants one.

I've got some RSPro cork hexatraction to extend the pad a little bit. Vinyl wrap and monocote are very similar--perhaps identical, though wrap stretches more. You don't have to heat-activate wrap, though gentle heating activates the adhesive a little more and shrinks the vinyl a bit. With the vinyl hot you can stretch it quite a bit to conform to surface geometry. I haven't wrapped a board yet, but I wrapped some motorcycle parts and it was surprisingly easy.
