Picking one of these buggers up. I'm torn between the 1210 and 980. I'm a bit less than 90kg with wetsuit. 2-4 foor fave surf and 20knot wingdinging
 Any thoughts? Piro's?

How much can you unsharpen the wingtips without compromising the Kujira?

And how good is the Kujira when breaching a wingtip?

A lot! And it handles breaches incredibly well!

I took 220 grit sanding block to the wing-tips and rounded them off.  They're probably 2/3rds the size they started at and no discernible change to how it rides.

I'm 90kg without wetsuit, for SUP and prone in weak waves the 1210 is money.  If its bigger the 980 is nice.  If I only was going to ride one wing, it would be the 1210 - works great in everything.

For the Ding the 1210 is one of the best foils I have used plus it's good fun in the smaller stuff for prone but turns nothing kike the 980.

Does the Kujira come with shims for the baseplate?

Or do you have to buy them separately?

I can't find them on the Kujira website.

New alu mast does not need shims so the alu 980 full set i bought did not come with any.

The carbon mast needs shim so it probably has them included in a full set...but this is just my guess.

Front wings only i do not know either, still waiting for the 1210 to arrive. My guess is no shim included.

I have a few that i DIY'd with epoxy and fiber any way.

I highly recommend the wizard hat shim kit.  Pretty simple kit and works well.

On my aluminum mast kit, the fuselage was machined to connect to the mast with excessive angle of attack on the foil.  So I took a machinist's file to the mast and put a few degrees of angle on the mast itself.  I think that's an older fuselage part and the newer ones have the angle sorted out.

The carbon 1210 that I got at the beginning of the year from Big Winds came with a base plate shim. I didn't end up using it, but its nice to have since tail rocker on board can vary.
