These tapes are way thicker and a special material that’s absorbs impact. It would be too thick for a rail saver.

They have a demo of this tape on a glass tube and hitting it with a metal hammer and it does not break

This Shelter tape is way thicker and more protective than helicopter tape.

I use that in scuff areas on my bikes so I know the difference

With helicopter tape you get the same protection as rail saver for half the price and unless part of your exercise is taking the board downhill as a snow sled hitting some tree trunks on your way down you should be fine ;)

The shelter tape comes in 2 thicknesses 0.6mm and 1.2mm.
I checked and the rail tape I use is 0.4mm. So even the 0.6mm is a big difference.
Will I be able too bend it around a 90° corner though? I didn't put rail saver here as it didn't really want too bend around the corner.
 I can get a 5m roll of the 0.6mm for 25 euros.

I have bent shelter off road 90 degrees but make sure it and the Board are warm when you do that.

Went for a 10k paddle last weekend. 2 x 5k. First longer paddle on the board.
Loving it. Fast upwind and stable enough that I can deal with a little chop and wind. Its not just a flat day board.
Averaging 8km/h. Around 7.5 min ks. Havnt been paddling much and wouldn't say I am in form at the moment so lots of  room for improvement.
I have ordered a second hand Gopro 7 so will try and post some vids soon.
I feel I need to shorten my paddle. I didn't want too cut it too short. Maybe chop 1" off and see how it feels.
