Gong 9m Superpower Wing - Any Zoner Reviews?
« on: December 12, 2020, 12:38:16 PM »
I have a 6m Naish S25 wing, but I want something that will work for me in under 15 knots of wind.

Gong seems to have the only massive wing on the market.

I have read that a couple of zoners have ordered one of these monsters, and I would like to hear their feedback before I order one myself.

Looking forward to hearing some first hand reviews.

Thanks,

Doug.

Here's a video of the 9 metre being used in super light winds.  Looks like fun if you're stuck for weeks in the summer with marginal conditions and you have some patience.

Doug,
I'm 215 lbs and lacking in experience but I'll share a session I had. 6-11 mph using a Maliko 280 with 18" wide stab. Pumped up on foil amazingly easy but constantly had to focus on going upwind...pumps through the lulls. Switched to the GL 210 which was more work to fly but improved upwind and speed making the sail a joy to fly. I went without a harness and after two hours I could no longer hold on. Glad I own one for desperado times and bad forecasts.
