AXIS 1150 review and comparison...

I appreciate 'engineer talk' compared to fanboy excitement...  I would like to see this guy travel to MEX or CR and see what he thinks of the ocean.

I assume in part 2 they actually talk about the Axis 1150

The P180 does not appear to be a wing I'm interested in trying. the fact that his bungee won't get it up on foil is telling. A P220 with a similar AR maybe.

I wonder how different my summer would have been if Axis had come out with the 1150 first instead of the 1010. I ended up with the 1010 because it was available but by sheer luck it's turned out to be the perfect size for my uses. Occasionally a little big but worth putting up with the excess lift for the lighter sections.

Interesting thought on how luck or happenstance can give us things we'd never thought true.

When I was looking to give Axis a try, but not wanting to take the full leap of faith and buy new...I lucky enough that the wingfoil guys where changing wings, and the 900 and 1000 wings I ended up with came available within days of each other. My thinking was that I'd be using the 1000 on my SUP for most of the average days we get at Sano, and have the 900 for when it got "big".

Fortunately again, the 900 showed up several days before the 1000, and at a time when we were getting piddly 1-3' stuff that I didn't think would get me off the water with it, but threw it on just for the hell of it thinking I'd just go paddle around to see how it felt, never expecting to catch a thing

Well hell, I not only caught more than I ever expected, but more than most of the guys on the "bigger" lower aspect wings out there that day, and that was it...when the 1000 finally arrived I threw it on just to see if it would perform better in the smaller stuff, but found that I didn't need it, and that the 900 has everything from knee high to a couple foot overhead covered. Such a fun setup!

Anyway to bring this back around to my point, had I got the 1000 first, I'd probably be riding it as most of the other guys on SUPs here are doing, and only pulled out the 900 out for when it got "big"...and would have missed out on how absolutely fun, playful, and easy to catch dang nearly any waves on the 900 turned out to be.
