How come none of those guys behind you in the opening scene were waving, and excited to see you there? They must be bashful, and hate being on camera. I think they need a SUP foiler or two in the lineup with them there to pick up their spirits...maybe next week!  ;) ;D

Fun place, great waves, and cool video. I remember the place well, have to revisit again come day. 8)

@NightWing... That is just a perfect wave for me. A little steeper than SanO and Doheny, and always a little more consistent.

@SanoSlatchSup... I'm thinking it might be too steep to foil?? I've never seen any foils there. Pretty shallow rocks too..

@Justsomeguy... You nailed it. Every wave put a smile on my face.

@DuskPatrol.. I thought the tide would be too high and swamp it out, but it was good the whole time...

Hahaha...don't worry TD, I was only kidding about heading up there. ;D

Not only the rocks, but the sunken fire pits there that would definitely be a foil killer, that I'm not willing to chance it on foiling around there.

But that just means you're gonna have to terrorize the surfers up there all by yourself. ;) :D

Nice one Talldude.  Really beautiful conditions, one nice session.
I surfed Church's on many a trip to LA, always some fun waves and not as crowded as a bit fureter on.

The hike up there is pretty rocky these days for at least the first 100 yards or so. I started wearing some junker shoes because my feet kept getting banged up. I used to paddle straight out from the parking lot, but it's just a shore pound onto big rocks now.

If that’s what it takes to get away from the crowds, that’s a small price to pay imo.
Awesome session 8)
in progress...

Outa da way! Here cones Talldude!!  :P Nice November glass and your smirky smile with that music made me seriously lol! Churches? Where is that break?
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I did the long drive to SanO this morning--five hour round trip. Fuck. I got there about 10 and the surf was fairly shitty. rare sets, shallow, cold. but other than that it was great. Got a few rides but I started falling a lot in the funky chop. My "wing" board is not the best foil surfboard I've ever been on--not bad, just not as stable or as easy to go hard for a wave as my surf-specific Kalama board. which is tanned, rested and ready in Maui.

This will all be a lot simpler in december when we move to Solano beach. When I agreed to spend november in Palm Desert (La Quinta, really) I didn't really completely comprehend what the drive was like. It's great for Diane to golf. I guess I'll have to just go spend some time on my motorcycle. I picked up a KTM 390 Adventure for this trip. I loaded up my BMW GS1150 in the back of the truck, then took it back out and said NO F'ng Way. I've owned cars that were lighter.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.
