Hurricane Zeta
« on: October 30, 2020, 09:29:41 PM »
Hard to believe we just broke the record for most hurricanes since 2005(Same year as Katrina, Rita, and Wilma)! Zeta delivered nicely this afternoon w/the typical flooding. Chilly though. Water is now 59F and the air was 45F w/a stiff north wind. First sesh w/the 4/3 full, boots and cap. Coulda used light gloves too (unless you're supthecreek  :P)! Didn't charge the SS the day before so it died pretty quick. Got one ride at least and a photographer I've know since the 80s got a nice shot of me. Micheal Baytoff, he was inducted into the New Jersey Surfing Hall of Fame a few years ago. I attended that induction at The Algonquin Theater in Manasquan. Was a blast.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

@ Cookie

Your Fall sup surfing sessions have been very good to you. There is one more tropical wave in the Caribbean and it might develop into a storm and head your way.

BTW, nice pictures.
Blue Planet Duke: 10'5" x 32" x 4.5" @ 190 Liters (2 Dukes)
Sup Sports Hammer: 8'11" x 31" x 4" @ 140 Liters
SUP Sports One World: 11'1" x 30" x 4.5" @ 173 Liters
CJ Nelson Parallax: 9'3" x 23 1/2" x 3 3/16" @ 78.8 Liters (prone surfing longboard; Thunderbolt Technologies build in Red construction)

The 5-day outlook shows it going to Honduras. Unlikely to enter the Atlantic.

Thanx, NW. A few more pictures came my way. The first one I stumbled on randomly on a facebook page from the town where the break is. The next two are from a young surfer/photographer I know. Also added a shot of the Coast Guard navigating Manasquan Inlet during the storm. True, fall has been very good here on the East Coast. I'm trying to get motivated to do a "tropical Update" video with highlights from all the swells. Looks like we're just about done at this point being as a SERIOUS cold front arrived last night and it's now blowing 30-40mph offshore!

Great shots cookie! Liking that board. Would have loved to put my hands on the 9'2" version, your 9'3" would also do the trick ;D
