Mad Foil Skills...
« on: October 20, 2020, 10:38:45 AM »
So we have all seen Steamroller's carving 360 that was replicated by Dave Kalama and others... what other crazy moves are the pros throwing the gauntlet down on?

To start us off, flatwater starts

I first saw Kai do the standing duck dive - I'm guessing its actually a little easier with a foil.  The foil seems to pull the board under and through the wave.  I've been able to duck under some big ones it a few times on my knees.  Gotta really hold on to the rails or you get swiped right off the back of the board as you're trying to go through.  I was never able to do it on my standup without the foil though.

Great Thread 805!

Standing duck dive: Yes I also saw kai do this way back on a standie. Super impressive.

Derek Hamasaki is my favorite Stand up Foiler. So smooth and love how he still uses the paddle. I try to impersonate his pump back out, (no stroke, stroke, no stroke, stroke). Zane is up there also but I dont see much from him lately .

Jeffery Spencer is my favorite prone and wing foiler. He is so smooth and calculated.
