Point Breaking Teddy Littles
« on: October 03, 2020, 04:09:54 AM »
Hurricane Teddy had dumped some great surf along the East Coast
This is Teddy's last gasp on Cape Cod

So I grabbed the 12' Sunova "Point Break" and had some fun!

Living the life Creek. Fun surf and a flyby reminder of those who gave their lives for our freedom. I guess the Soloshot is working again?
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Thanks TD!

The B-17 has always been a symbol of heroic service.... it was an honor to see it flying low and proud!
A truly emotional moment!

Yes, SoloShot shows up from time to time.
Until a month ago it was spot on every session for over a year.... then it re-started it's old habit of filming 100 yards to my right.

Very frustrating, because some of the time it will follow correctly after a half hour.... so any manual correction I do early will end up making it wrong when it finally auto corrects.
I still have boards I need video on for reviews, it's very frustration when it goes bad during epic Hurricane waves.

I set up SoloShot3 Opti 65 on a public beach, next to the road, right in front of hundreds of people watching Hurricane Teddy's big day.
Risking a $1,000 camera and getting zero footage from an epic swell was a huge letdown.

Sweet ride, Rick. Loving the longer boards.

Sometimes surfing the outer reefs on the east side, the HH60's will fly pretty low when they're giving "rides." About two weeks ago, one passed pretty low just outside me, and I shot them the double shaka. He (or she) pulled up, cranked a 180, then come back and go right over me at about 100', maybe lower, then had to crank it again to go over the cliffs on the inside. 33rd Rescue pilots are a pretty crazy lot.

Both arms raised with double shaka is an international signal of distress. It was necessary that they fly in close to investigate your situation.

Nice! Ricky...  Like Oki, I find a large, narrow board with a business nose very attractive moving thru water.   As you demonstrated, it can pick up the pace too.  ' Glad you are having fun.
