Two For Teddy
« on: September 23, 2020, 05:53:59 PM »
Two GOOD days of clean tropical juice under belt. 9/22/ and 9/23 are history! It was so crowded today I almost bailed but like three different people told me there were plenty of waves so I went for it. Yesterday was crowded too but the drift kept the lineup spread out. Today was loooong period groundswell, really groomed out, and super consistent. Hurricane Teddy was spinning directly off our coast. SOLOSHOT racked up 70GB of footage.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Nice!! ... So jealous, we kinda got shafted here in central FL with strong on-shores making a mess of it. Hoping for some clean left-overs here at the end of the week.

@someguy- sorry to hear you got skunked. Mo waves equals mo happiness! I noticed that during our run of swell during Teddy. Our smiles had to be surgically removed!  :) :D 8)

Here's some of the action captured by the SOLOSHOT.

Nice video Marc!  Wild how the two long lefts you got the Soloshot almost appears to be shooting from the ocean.

Paulette and Teddy , two of the best swells I can remember in years.  Teddy was some of the biggest surf I have ever ridden in Maine.  Also got to surf my favorite break that only breaks when it's big  and breaking off shore so you miss the rocks...nobody out but me and a friend

Great shots.
Thanx, Oki. Crazy how video screen grabs off the SOLOSHOT come out sometimes.
Here's another SSedit I did and uploaded to "The Cloud". It was the second day of the swell. PACKED lineup when I got there early but thinned out by afternoon as the tide filled in.

Definitely no shortage of tropical juice hunters in New Jersey! "Magic" you say? That place is mystical!

Thanx, LB. I had the SS setup atop the bulked that kinda juts out into the surf. As I surf south the camera rotates 90 degrees and shoots into the back of the wave, The next day I setup WAY down beach and you can see the bulkhead to the north. The SS you see in this picture is someone else's. Mine is shooting me.

Nice, Carib. Only you and friend? There was like 40 to 50 out at the groin both days of Teddy. Thinned out after a while both days. I was lucky to have sup surfed in all those proners and not get one hassle. Only a coupla sup riders there the whole swell.
