Stoked to see this new wing specific line from Slingshot.

Five pack of inserts with Y and single strap positions.  Nice looking outline and a mention of flat rocker.  Nice range of sizes.   I hope they kept the rail bevel and tail kick to a minimum.  I imagine the same awesome construction as the Outwits.  If so, we will have a light and extremely durable option.

Ay, chihuahua! Boss...  U$1600.?!   I just looked - The GONG Lemon Pro is a tick over U$1,000.  The Fanatic seems quite a bit less expensive also, no?  The Slingy has a nice outline, yatta-yatta ..but that's a hefty premium for something not made stateside  ..and they pointedly did not mention weight or construction in that blurb.

At least they are making a showing outside their core Exhaust Surfers.

Jim, I think it will be more clear if you analyze the numbers.  They saved the weight by completely eliminating the 7.  7 is a heavy number and in my opinion it is overused in many (if not most) current boards.  Way too much 7.  It is simply too early to reveal the specifics of the 8.  The 8 is where magic lives.

This outline, not too much bevel or tail kick, 11 or 12 lbs at 5'6 and they can have my $1666.00

These boards are WAY to simple and small to charge such silly money for. They should be a tousan or less. None of dis fifteen hunred crap. Sevens? We don't need no sevens. 6 or 8 or fahgeddaboudit.

That isn't the Pinot Noir talking, though that second glass was mighty tasty. A nice 2017 Analemma. Dammit, there's another 7. They're fucking everywhere.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Hmmm, $1666.00, Halloween early release, very wing-crafty.

From the last photo it looks like Sling Shot has a new wind wing called the "Dart".  I wonder how it differs from their recently released V2 wing?

Maybe I'm wrong but the foil mast looks longer than the Sling Shot 90 cm. one (perhaps a new longer one).  Take a look at the second photo.

Looks like it has the more extreme beveled rails like the Outwit. Isn't that counter to  the recent trend?......These are really cool pictures, Admin, but kind of reminds me of watching Hendrix at Woodstock and wondering that if I get a white Stratocaster, will I be able to play as well as Jimi?

Hi Foiled,

This one (prototype?) looks like it has very flat rocker (which was great on our Outwits) with a lot less nose, a lot less tail chop (maybe none?), and less bevel (wishful thinking?).  If so those would be great changes.  I am not sure what the trend is.  It seems like there is still a lot of borrowing from other sports.  It looks like maybe less bevel at the tail and hopefully not too extreme on what actually comes to market.  I would prefer no bevel and no tail kick but we are making choices from what is available.  I love my current Fanatic Sky Wing 5'4 (no bevel no chop) but would love to shed some pounds.  Our last Slingshot boards were nice and light (and very strong) so if these are similar they may be a good answer.

Here's a review of the Moon Buddy, which I believe is basically the same as the Sling Shot Wing Craft.  (I have the six foot Moon Buddy and it does not have the bottom handle or the extra foot strap inserts although it looks like the shorter ones do.)

Hi Dejavu,

The Mac Kite video mentions the tail on the 5'0 Ride Engine quite a bit.  He says that you lose about 8 inches of planing surface.  He doesn't sound thrilled with that.  That is a little surprising for such a short board.  I am hoping that Slingshot keeps that chop much smaller (none would be nice :)  ).  They are clearly still designing the moon buddy (ventral fin, etc) as a crossover SUP.  It is also one of the thicker boards I have seen.  I am not seeing a lot of that in the Slingshot images (but it is hard to tell).

I checked my 6 foot Moon Buddy -- the tail kick extends 7" back.  It seems strange to me that on a 5 foot board the tail kick would extend back even further -- 8".

In this video there are some quick shots of the wing in the above photos (around the 36 second and 1 minute 37 second mark) -- black with some dark green at the rear edge.  It may be called the "DART" as per the lettering on the wing in photo 3.  New wing coming from Slingshot?

Here's a video featuring the new Slingshot DART wing (German).  Wyatt is winging with the Dart in the photos shown above.

There's going to be a lot of choice in 2021!
