No surprise there! That O Mist place is cool.  8)
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I spent 1/2 hour trying to get my SoloShot to follow... but gave up cuz the Sun was going down in 2 hours.

The two biggest days in years and Solo failed both of them.
It was following too far right to even get anyone surfing.... but I did get some screen grabs to show the conditions.

I paddled further out and back than the pack (probably 50 shortboarders)
During my session, I was the only SUP in the water.
I went to the same line-up spot I have used on big days for 30 years.... only the biggest sets even show there, so you need patience.
Surfers are almost never able to get out far enough or fast enough for the biggest sets (pic 5) so I wait for them

Just after I got to my line-up.... the biggest set I saw all day came right to me!!!
I took off steep and deep... my KANGA made easy work of a very long wall.
All the way through the pack, to the far inside.... no one dropped in, so that was very cool!!

Surfers were hooting as I paddled back out.
On guy shouts over "Nice ride Hoss".... made my month!!!  ;D

So stoked! I had a great time, even in some pretty windy and very crowded conditions.

Beyond disappointed that Soloshot has refused to capture these two epic swells.... KANGA was special on these waves!

Ricky,  If you were the only SUP out there - I did see you. (a spec among prone specs) Too bad you couldn't have stuck a wrench in that camera's pan system; the minute you saw the break - it switched to empty water.  Not only is the Sun going down sooner, it sure feels weaker. Our local ocean dropped ~8 deg. f. in a week.

@creek-   Local sup knowledge pays off...SOLOSHOT craps out. Your outside wave sounds amazing. I too was out in a crowd of about 50 today. Mix of shorties and longboards plus two or three sup. Except I was right in the thick of it. Luckily all went well today (9-23-2020). And the SS worked, 'cept for being a bit off center frame.
