People are outside in Tamarindo - in the afternoon!
« on: August 10, 2020, 12:48:36 PM »
I have been watching for a while and it appeared that 'one could walk the dog and surf' till about 11am' ...but both waves and sand remained unmolested after that.  A few days ago I saw a couple of people in the surf, thinking; "They will catch mierda from the police."  Nope, there must be a lifting of the ban. This would be the perfect time to slip down, no?  There is almost nobody in the water, ' no waiting at the massage table and I'd bet bartenders would be happy to see you.

Expedia says...

"We've searched more than 400 airlines that we sell, and couldn't find any flights from Baltimore (BWI) to Liberia (LIR) on Fri, Aug 14."    (different days/airports same result)

"Important: This destination may have COVID-19 travel restrictions in place, including specific restrictions for lodging. Check any national, local, and health advisories for this destination before you book."

Oooops, that's right ...it is perhaps the first time in recent history when; 'It is them that want to keep us out!'  If not so tragic, it would be a funny turnabout.

Thanks for the link. We are in process booking our first trip to CR Tamarindo in June of 2021.

I am so pumped.

As far as travel goes, I think betting the come on when CR, or Hawaii for that matter opens is probably going to get you some pretty empty surf, but some pretty heavy vibes from the locals. Probably worth it though.
Make paddleboarding great again!

Re Locals. In CR they will be thrilled to see you. Locals are already friendly. When they are hurting economically and friendly you will be blown away I'll bet.

Probably same for HI, tbh. I can't see them being jerks after a few months of literally their economy being shut down.

Maybe some vibes, but if there's good testing in place I'll bet it's not as bad as we might think. I'll wager money wins over localism if those locals make their money from the tourist economy and if they don't, those that do will regulate for you.
