Just wondering if anyone is using XM surf leash? And what your thoughts are on them?

Not me. I have a ton of old leashes. I'm convenced the best is https://leashlokhawaii.com/

I bought one on Amazon about three months ago. Noticeably better construction than all the rest. Better cord, better cuff, better swivel.

https://www.amazon.com/Leashlok-Hawaii-MEGA-Leash-Blue/dp/B07P6G78D1/ref=sr_1_6?crid=36XZATXU4L8HP&dchild=1&keywords=leashlok+mega&qid=1596577587&sprefix=Leashlok%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-6

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

I’m using only XM. All Custom big wave leashes. Really good stuff.

I haven't done my annual destructo leash test for a few years now, but just on the basis of appearance, of the non-hand tied leashes I'd rate Leashlock #1, XM #2, then all the rest.

I've had cuffs pull off while getting pounded in big surf two times. I consider that a particularly unpleasant failure mode--worn out velcro and/or just an inadequate design. I doubt you'd ever have that happen with either Leashlock or XM cuffs.

TD,
Thanks for the link... I bought a surf leash and flat-water leash Plus a calf cuff.

NOTE:
For 3 items, shipping on the leashlok site was $16

I checked Amazon Prime
Bought both leashes on Amazon = free shipping
Bought the Calf Cuff from Leashlok = free shipping

So... Prime saved me all the shipping cost.

Thanks you everyone for the info.  Yeah I’ve been looking for an 8’ calf leash but none of the mainstream leash companies make one. But also the wife wants a purple calf leash for Xmas which like looking for a unicorn. Now I’m not sure if she knows about XM or she is trying determine if I’m still worthy of being her husband and listens to what she wants.  ;D  Sounds like XM are pretty solid so I think I’m going to give them a try.

Used XM years ago when prone. Great quality. Probably start using them again as they carry the Made in USA logo, meaning even the materials must be sourced in the US. $40 for a leash is a stretch, though, so maybe I'll sell off my stash of Dakine Kainui :-)

Had good luck with XM and Dakine.  Recently got an Ocean and Earth that seems quality.

I had one Dakine leash that I really wasn’t impressed by. I’ve been using FCS and haven’t had any issues. They have held up to the punishment I’ve put them through and no breaks or cuts.

XM leashes are good, two thumbs up because that's what I use on my boards.   8)

I received the 2  LeashLok leashes I ordered after TD post
one coil for flat-water - it a race leash, so compact and never notice it.
one 9' SUP surf leash - robust and a notch above for comfort and detail
one calf cuff - which is sweet, since an ankle cuff won't go over my wetsuit, I use a calf cuff as an ankle cuff in winter.
The problem I have using most calf cuffs like that is there is always a dangling end that has no velcro to stick to.... the Leashlok cuff is perfect!

The swivels are much better than DaKine and the leash hasn't tangled yet.
I am a fan so far!
