SUP adirondack chair - recycled Kings Board
« on: July 16, 2020, 05:36:20 PM »
Board began life as one of Dave Daum (King's Paddle Sports owner and board shaper) favorite long board style custom SUP called the Crocodile board. After Dave made a cross country trip, which included a stop in New England and a visit to the famous Cape Cod Pump House Surf Shop, Owner and surfer extraordinaire Matt River got hold of the board, it soon transferred ownership from Dave and quickly became Matt's favorite SUP. Matt enjoyed countless sessions and waves up and down the Cape until after a typical day of Cape Cod close outs the board had it's tragic end and was toast, left essentially unrepairable. This was a beautiful 10ft hand shaped custom SUP weighing around 10 pounds that saw tons of east coast and west coast waves, but what to do with it now....Matt stored it at his shop until I saw a really cool Adirondack chair made out of Hockey sticks and thought...hmmmm …I had an idea and called Matt ….asked about getting my hands on the famous board and the rest is history !!

Here's a few pics...Matt ripping it up in a sweet Cape Cod barrel and then Matt holding the board all ripped up. Then a little over a year later....my new Crocodile chair ….now loved and used again daily!!!

That's so cool. I'll have to show that to Dave next time I see him (if someone hasn't already)...I know he'll get a kick out of it.

That’s rad. And also, good work on the arm to board transition. Clean.

Thanks everyone.

@SanoSlatchSup ...Dave’s saw it on my Facebook page and he loved it, ironically It helped to get Dave and Matt to connect so Dave can send Matt  a replacement of that same board !!

Damn, I wish I hadn't given away all my crappy boards.

Bill I just got a brand new Infinity so I decided to cut an old and basically never used 8’4 Focus Rawson in half to make 2 more chairs..... figured I’d get more use out if it that way!! I’ll post those pics when finished.
