Armstrong WingDing
« on: July 08, 2020, 08:41:23 AM »
So I'm excited to see what Armstrong's upcoming Wing Ding has in store.  I spoke with an insider recently and got some interesting tid-bits that I can't divulge, but I can say that Armie's goal is a STIFF wing.

Here's a clip from Youtube:

Notice how little the wing deforms during the Air.  Looks stiff!

From the quick snippets it looked like it might have had a boom.

Definitely a short boom and a center strut. Looks stiff enough for purpose.
The big question still remains, will it be priced like their foils?

I didn't get a concrete answer, but I got the sense in the next month or two.  Armie's been testing out wings and wingdings in winter down in NZ.  He can't travel somewhere warm to dial them in.  Could have worse problems I guess  ;D

They appeared to be hiding the front/under side view.  But here is a semi-close up.

Looks like they might just be spanning 2 handles with a short boom variant.
