Fantastic shots and skills!  Digging that meter long mast.

The water in the first 3 shots can be accessed from a newly remodeled ramp style launch on the Oregon side (Arlington) or from an amazing grassy park on the Washington side (Roosevelt).  The water there is dreamy.  The river is super wide and it gets this long slopey swell that only gets nicer when the wind picks up.

The last shot is Cheap beach.  That sits between Swell City and the Hatchery.  It is really all one stretch of amazing water.  It is very different the the first spot.  The channel is right off shore and the current moves through there.  It builds a great swell as well but it is not as easygoing.

Thanks for posting those.

Yup, cynbad has some serious skills. Long time kite foiler. Braver than Dick Tracy.

These are awesome. That first shot is all time. And yeah, those swells would swallow you.

Oh man Cheap Beach. My favorite. Spent sooooo much time there in my 20's. That was our spot. Would love to wingfoil there. Probably won't happen this summer. One of these years for sure. Not an easy launch by any means. My friend Bob sent me this pic:

Those were likely from the day of our Blalock to Arlington run, saw her out there on land at least. That's the first time I've seen the new launch and while it looks fine for going out, I came in to the harbor and right up to the west boat ramp. I wouldn't try coming in at the launch, no point to it.

You can even self land a kite in 40+ at the the westernmost gravel ramp, saw a guy do it

The eastern end launch is a narrow slot with one shot at making it unless you are wind-powered. Even then it would be spooky. I tried to make it on my downwind SUP board and missed it--had to straighten out or hit the jetty. Fortunately, I found an eddy just past the launch and got enough protection from the wind to get my shit together and paddle upwind around the corner. Unforgiving place in a lot of ways.
