It’s not public yet. either the story expired or he pulled it down. It was an unboxing video of a new wing. It has little wingtips like the takuma.

I thought id been seeing little snippets of tiplets on a new gofoil but couldnt be sure. This wing must be it. Tips like that reduce drag by around 12% so its not surprising they are using then as well. Only negative would be the amount of paddles that end up chopped to pieces when you nick the blade while sup foiling

He pulled it down, I have the screen recording but can't upload mov files due to ridiculous size limits.

Interesting, looks like the back of the tip is cut away where it intersects the T/E, which is the vortex is and consequently where you WANT the tiplet?

I like how everything is a secret at GoFoil. The web site has finally been updated but is still lacking information.

In my opinion, this is silly.  Winglets DO increase lift-to-drag ratio for a given wingspan.  However, slightly increasing the wingspan with the same extra wetted area is a superior way to increase lift/drag ratio.  You see winglets on commercial jets specifically because they need to stay under a certain wingspan to fit into the gate parking spots.  And on a big jet like that a smaller wingspan is quite a bit lighter in terms of structural mass.  We don't have those problems.

We do have wing tips breaching on turns though, which seems to be the major downside to long wingspans on foils.

If you're banked at less than 45deg then the vertical winglet will pierce the surface before the same length of additional wingspan - so that's not a good reason for winglets either.

But hey, I haven't ridden it, so what do I know!?
