Nice!

A little playing with the mount and the pole will disappear.

I have been blown away at how good the gopro android app is, fast and efficient.  For a clip or 2 it's way way faster then editing on windows.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

One thing is for sure Bill, you have most entertaining verbal skills on the forum!  Don’t change a thing.

Beasho, both those videos are totally awesome, and your windsurfing/SUP/video editing skills were/are 50 miles above anything I ever did.

This is more of a mish mosh low res video I did back in 2013 (already in ole guy status) with a bunch of family stuff mixed in. Even if I’m not all that good at it, I have a blast at playing in the water and making videos, and there is always something higher to aspire to :)

Clay, I ordered a real selfie stick and also a wing tip GoPro mount so I’ve got all kinds of things planned. I’ve been watching your vid’s almost since you started......

I’ve been itchin to try and make a film by sailing around a fixed GoPro Max and finally gave it a try. In this case I mounted the Max on a tripod and just set it up in my favorite 4’ deep riding spot (of course winging out a quarter mile with the gear and setting up in healthy wind was not trivial ::) ). Suppose this would work on a boat or buoy in flat water.

Here’s the result. Only had 15 min in the Max battery (senile me forgot to check it) so I just remember trying to ride around this tiny spec in the water  as much, and as close as I could,....without hitting it. If your not turning every 10-15 seconds you turn into a tiny spec quickly! Reframed/zoomed resolution is not great as expected, but it sorta worked. LOTS of tedious reframing in the edit. Used 1080p @60fpm and reframed using the “linear” rotate option. Technology is so cool...(my pumping skills totally suck, feel free to laugh :P)

Awesome inspirational stuff! Lovin the 360's. Flown through one yet? Totally dig your fixed water cam. Nice work staying in tight to it. Keep it coming!

Finally ordered my S25's but I guess the shipment still hasn't arrived. Killing me, but that's what I get for being indecisive.

I did one of those heel-to-toeside-tack-to-jibe that sorta looks like an upwind 360 in the clip, but no downwind (backwinded) 360’s here. The upwind sorta-360 is definitely easier than the downwind version and I’ve finish a couple of them on the foil. None of the downwind versions finished on the foil so far.  I don’t even like trying a downwind 360 unless I’m slightly underpowered, which has hardly happened lately.

There is another cool transition that doesn’t look to hard; it’s a toe-to-heeelside tack but instead of passing the wing overhead, you pass it behind your back. Haven’t tried it yet

Still waiting on some Echo’s to show up. Pretty much every day in the last month I’ve been on the 4m I would have preferred to be on that 3.3m Echo. I’m sure when it gets here the winds will be on the light side for the rest of the summer.......

Can this be done with a leash?

Good question! Here is a link to the transition. In the comment section they make reference to the wing leash being connected to a waist belt (sorta makes sense), but it’s hard to see any wing leash in the video itself.  Almost looks like he isn’t using one.

I see there is a name for this upwind 360 thingy. Gunnar Biniasch (foiler extrordinar) calls it a Wing-Taka.  No idea where that came from. Learn sumpin new every day. (I tend to notice how these guys are doing these cool transitions in lightish winds with big wing-a-dings and I’m flailing around trying to figure them out almost overpowered on a 4m :P )

I do that move into waves. You don't need much wind, just keep the speed in the foil. Focus on the wave and you'll forget about the wing, just keep it high so it's out of your way.

Very interesting. Gunnar has always done a decent job of staying unbiased, despite representing certain brands.

I’m totally looking forward to trying all this stuff on a 4 to 6m in lighter winds with knee-to-waist-high mush, as opposed to being seriously powered to over-powered on a 4m in flat water
