I ride the 85CM mast winging all the time.

My 5M BRM wing arrives tomorrow to complete the quiver.

I'd be interested to hear your feedback on the BRM if you get a chance to fly one!

One thing I really enjoy is the ergonomics of the handles and how your arms end up in position when flying.  Arms are basically straight out and relaxed and pulled forward by the wing.  Even when I'm riding crossed up, my back arm is straight, unlike with the Swing, which had my back arm at like a 90 degree bend.

Thank you very much Vb for your review, please keep posting them when you get more sizes.
How do you like the 1050 Armstrong? Is it stable like the 1550?
And i’m so curious to know what Dwight will say tomorrow, because i have also Echo but i’m very interested in Brm wings.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the review.  I often think they can be longwinded ramblings, so it's good to know they are helpful.

The 1050 is just a magic foil.  It has that same stable feeling as the 1550, but will roll rail to rail very easily and predictably.  It just feels like the trucks have been loosened on the skateboard trucks and swiss ceramic bones bearings were just put in the 'wheels'.  It also glides through transitions and has a relatively slow stall speed considering the size.  I'm only 65kgs, so that may be a factor.  The upcoming HS1250 may be the ticket for more average/larger guys high speed wing.

Yes. Someone on the Aussie forum mentioned a guy who’s been riding HA prototypes for a year. This person still rides the HS surfing.

At 60 kgs you should certainly consider the 1050 if you often ride winds in the 18-20mph range with a 4 or 5m wing.  I rode my 1050 previously on a flat-ish water day with a 5m in that wind range and it was the most fun I think I've had on the wing so far.

Spoke with someone who spoke with Armie about his HA lineup.  They are still in development.  He said that Armie says the vast majority of 'high aspect' wings area not really high aspect.  I think he won't come out with the lineup until it is a good fun wing to ride.  There are some negative characteristics to overcome with a lot of the HA wings out there, so I hear.  Armie was complaining about the testing in the winter conditions down in NZ haha.

The current HS line is more of a high/mid aspect blend which couples the surf and carve-ability we all enjoy with the higher top end speeds you want as your skills improve.

Having the Moses 790 I’m actually looking for something faster but yet stable that don’t kick me off in head height waves in 20 knots wind.
So i was uncertain between 1550 and 1050 but 1250 may be the One!

Interesting feedback, I can definitely relate to the back arm bent on the swing toeside, gets old.

I'm wondering if the BRM still behaves that way with someone like me with long arms?  I played with a 3m on the grass, ergonomics felt good.  The owner also had a hot wing and he was pretty stoked with split mini boom design.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Dwight,
Did you get any chance to test the Brm wings?

I held it on the beach. The thunderstorms have shut things down too early. Starting today, we are supposed to have 7 straight days of strong wind.

I just went out to test my low end threshold with the 6M W1, 2400cm Armstrong foil, 74l 5’1” foilsurfmachines board. Ran out to the end of the pier with my anemometer and picked up a gust of 11.8mph after a few minutes of waiting, with the wind mostly in the 8mph range steady.

For some reason the pumping was easier for me this third session with the big guy (first time pairing it with 2400) and I was able to get up in probably 10mph with some effort. Came off foil once one a tack and decided to keep it to gybes to avoid relaunching.

All in all it was kinda boring, but it was a relaxing, comfortable cruise! This combo is definitely a session saver.

With the 5m swing I needed 12mph to get on foil for reference. This session was the lightest wind I’ve flown in. (Not a kiter)

Thank you for that compare pics.  Reducing wing span is a priority for me.

About half the time my gopro and or garmin has missing or corrupted gps data.  And if i have it mounted on the end of a long pole swinging it around will hit ridiculous speed peaks.

Kai Lenny hit a max of 31mph with a rigid wing and to me that looked very fast.

In the comments Derek the Hammer said he hit around 30...
